2004 Labor Day Weekend, sponsored by FIHS

The 87th Annual Francestown Labor Day Weekend Festival will take place from Friday, September 3rd through Monday the 6th.

All events are sponsored by the Francestown Improvement and Historical Society (FIHS).

BJ and Scott Carbee are co-chairs for the weekend festivities; contact them if you have questions or need more information, or especially if you can volunteer to help out at any of the events.

The winning theme for this year's parade is “All in a Day's Work”, submitted by Sue Slamin of Francestown (which earned her a cool $50!). Floats are judged in the following categories:

  • Most Appropriate
  • Most Humorous
  • Most Original
  • Most Artistic
  • Best Commercial
  • Best Walker
  • Best on Bikes
  • Best with Horse, etc.

Ribbons are awarded in each category for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and for Honorable Mention. The 1st place winner in each category also receives $25. A Grand Prize winner will be chosen from amongst all entries, and will be awarded the Grand Prize ribbon plus $50. No entry can win in more than one category.

10th Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament
$10 entry fee (includes T-shirt)
Players and teams must pre-register; see rules posted at the Francestown Village Store
     7:00pm Old Meeting House Annual Vesper Service
